Summer brings great weather and the North Bay Heritage Festival and Air Show.

This festival is held in August and is also well known all over Canada and the United States. It is a huge undertaking for the people of the City. This year there was an estimated crowd of 130,000 over the four day event.

The biggest attraction for the festival is the air show, because it usually features the Canadian Snowbirds aerobatic team, as well as small planes of all types doing impressive demonstrations, military aircraft from Canada the United States and other countries.

The festival also features well known bands internationally as well as local. Also a singing contest called The Canadian Open country music contest also well known for its high caliber talent. There are excellent prizes, with the main prize being a recording contract.

The festival is held on the shore of lake Nipissing that has been completely renovated with new streets, walking, biking and roller blading paths. We also have a brand new marina with docking for over 300 boats and landing slips for all boaters to use.

There are also many more activities including a pro-volleyball tournament, ride the mini train, swim, dance etc.

It is one of the biggest such events in Ontario.
